Yili Group actively implements carbon reduction initiatives across the entire value chain in six key areas: procurement, production, packaging and logistics, consumption, mindset advocacy, and water resource management. In Procurement: Yili incorporates the carbon footprint of raw and auxiliary materials into its R&D standards, strengthens low-carbon management and empowerment, and drives carbon reduction in agriculture, animal husbandry, and raw material suppliers, fostering low-carbon development throughout the upstream and downstream industries. In Production: By optimizing energy structures, implementing key energy-saving and carbon-reduction projects, and promoting efficient, low-carbon, and green production processes, Yili leads the green and low-carbon transformation of the dairy industry. In Packaging and Logistics: Yili promotes the use of new energy vehicles, develops multimodal transportation, and establishes zero-carbon logistics parks and routes. It has also set up packaging recycling mechanisms, strengthened closed-loop solid waste management, and advanced resource regeneration and recycling. In Consumption: Yili has launched multiple “carbon neutrality products” in categories such as organic milk, milk powder, yogurt, and ice cream, encouraging green consumption. In Mindset Advocacy: The group innovates environmental public welfare campaigns through initiatives like “Nest Builders,” “Elephant Guardians,” “Tree Planters,” and “Planet Box Partners,” exploring diverse paths to protect our shared home. In Water Resource Management: Yili conducts water resource management, introduces water footprint projects, enhances water-saving protocols, and promotes water conservation and carbon reduction across the entire value chain, achieving synergistic benefits.
